Is anyone running the GM part#12480110 ASA cam? Specs are i/e 525 lift, i226/e236 duration@.050 on 110 lobe centerline. How does this cam sound and perform? Thanks, Paul
My buddy back in Texas installed that cam in his 99 Trans Am. It sounds wicked and takes a little tuning to get it running right. The good thing about the ASA cam is that the low lift is easy on valve springs and it works with stock heads and pistons...no valve reliefs required. I would at a minimum swap some LS6 valve springs in there or maybe some Comp Cams stock style beehive replacement springs to take advantage of the higher RPM range.
Bottom line is that it is a good cam that sounds wicked and performs well...and if I remember it is not that expensive compared to other GENIII cams.
