Does anyone know what this hose and plunger is that mounts to brake pedal bracket and goes through fire wall into engine bay?

Now ain't that strange, here is an AC vacuum hose diagram from a '73 probably the same as '72. I don't see the connection. That plunger switch almost looks like a brake light switch.

The plunger/switch looking device mounted to the left of the brake switch. It is very odd....it has the white plunger on one end and the nipped on the other for the hose. Hose appears to be of 3/8 size.

Cruise Control vacuum break/switch.
It's what deactivates the Cruise Control when you hit the brake pedal.

If your car no longer has factory cruise control, you don't need it.

The car had an aftermarket cruise control setup when I got it by Rostra. This wasn't connected to it. It had a smaller vacuum line that was t'd at the back of intake.

Must have had factory cruise at one time....now that you mentioned break, it makes sense, it has solid vacuum until plunger moves causing a leak and less suction.
