How good is POR 15

Hi guys,
I had my front subframe and all suspension parts acid dipped and then repainted with normal paint, but low and behold its chipped and rusting all over again. Ive been told that POR 15 is the best(its not a common product in Australia), how tough is this product can you use it on coils ect. Do you have to pre-prime before application. Does the metal have to be rust free ect. Any help would be appreciated. Sub-frame dipping plus suspension parts and repainting has cost me approx $1800 Aus, and it currently looks like crap. Any help would be appreciated.

ive done two cars with por 15 the camaro im working on right now was sand blasted before i put the paint on, the factory told me to let it set up for a couple hours then paint the color i was using,this way the two would bond together,you cant paint over this stuff after it drys with out sanding which the paint becomes hard and real smooth you can paint over rust as long as the scale was removed and it has to be bare metal to bond to. go to www.por15.com for more info

I've painted several subframes with POR15. Then they sat out back for a couple years getting rained on, etc...

they still look relatively nice.

I'm guessing the subframe is chipping and rusting due to the person not taking the correct refinishing steps.If they did it would have a life span like any other piece of metal.Maybe all the acid wasn't neutralized completely in all the welds etc. and I bet whom ever did it thought of it as "It's just a frame" and didn't use any etching primer, more than likely just spraying the cheapest paint they had right over the bare metal.
