Idiot question..

You need to have access to the light switch behind the dash. Remove the gauge panel and find the small button head spring retainer on the switch housing. Press the button headed spring retainer while pulling on the knob and the knob should slide right out of the housing.

I bought a good switch off of ebay about 6 months ago. I had to play around with the switch for a while before I figured it out. The switch looks eal good now!

The little spring-loaded button in back is the key.

Pull the knob out to headlight "ON" position.
Depress the little button in back.
Push knob in. (to release catch)
Pull knob completely out.
