I have an 1981 Z28. Is there an easy way to replace the stock instrument cluster with aftermarket guages such as autometer or would it be easier to replace the Instruments with a stock one. If that is the case where can I locate a replacement cluster.

Quick piece of advise.
Try doing a search on this site for the question.
Some things have been discussed over and over again. There are very good threads located on this subject.

what gauges you need? standard speedo (130), tach, volt gauge, and temp can be found in a stock cluster. easily wired in, with few mods, there is an article on this site about it matter o fact. and you can pull out the clock and put in a oil pressure gauge from a 70s or 80s s-10 truck (i think) that matches the cluster. all the gauges you should need. if you need more, you can always put 3 down in the center console cubby hole.

I think the obvious answer is that replacing your guage cluster with another stock unit is the easiest- it's plug 'n play assuming you're not trying to convert idiot lights to guages.

Look in the swapmeet section...
