I ran 295s before on my Z without any issue. What back spacing are you using on the rims? Thats could be your problem. Also...Please keep in mind there are limits to how big a tire you can go. There is not always an easy solution.

Yea true I understand I kno alot of people ran it so I didn't see a problem wit it, I wanted to run these so I could drive on the street and then throw 26 tall slicks on to get the most out of my gears, and the backspacing is 4.5 I'm pretty sure

^++ Stock tires are only 25 inches tall! A 295 x 50 x 15 would be a nice meaty tire that is only about 1/2 inch taller than stock. I run those without any issues.

Here's the right way to do it. http://www.tirerack.com/images/accessories/product_images/medium/fenderlip.jpg

Most "stock" tires for 2nd gens were about 26 - 27" tall.

A 205/75/14 (stock for many early 2nd gens) is 26.1" tall.

A 225/70/15 (stock for many late 2nd gens) is 27" tall.

Bottom line, a 295/65/15 is never gonna fit on a 2nd gen with 4.5" BS. The 295/50/15 you reference is 26.7 - a really good height on a 2nd gen - but even that isn't gonna fit with 4.5" BS.
