Fom what I've read the fbody oil pan is what you want...also,on the tie rods I've seen multiple people with this problem..as far as I know the best way to fix this is to change out all of your steering components with stuff for a second gen trans am..this includes your pitman arm on the steering gearbox.

Also what engine swap mounts are you using?
IIRC, the 1" back ones are better at avoiding the tie rod problem.

Don't use the LH8/hummer/muscle car pan. My engine is set forward just a tad to comfortably clear front power accessories. I had to notch my fbody pan to clear the crossmember. I paid street & performance in Arkansas for
that. The CTS v pan works too, it does hang below crossmember a little.

fbody is the best and least stressful way to go

i would say ignore all of those other pans and go with f body pan. it will save you a lot of headaches in the future.

One problem with going with the firebird steering linkages is finding a pitman arm. They are no longer made, but if you are able to find one that is the way to go if you need to rebuild your front end. If you have already rebuilt the steering then I would recommend this route as all the steering linkages have to be changed.
