PRND21 indicator

Hi there.

I will be converting my 77 Camaro to 4 speed when she comes out of storage and I have a question regarding the auto trans gear position indicator that sits between the tach and speedo.

Do I just remove this component and the little wire cable that is connected to the rotating sleeve on the steering column?

What goes here on a factory 4 speed car?

With manual transmission, that area is blacked out with a piece of black tape or similar.

The open gear indicator strip in the cluster is covered with a piece of black tape for manual transmission cars.

When I did the swap I remove the PRNDL and put a piece of black electrical tape over the opening.
