I'm not suggesting everyone go out and buy an EV NOW NOW NOW. You can't anyway, there aren't enough, and it's a super crappy time to buy any car now, it seems.
I wholeheartedly agree with this comment. Not only aren't the vehicles available for purchase, our power grid couldn't support them even if they were.
But please feel free to inform our Transportation Secretary about this.
Buttigieg has repeatedly told the American that Americans from "rural to suburban to urban communities can all benefit from the gas savings or driving an EV."
Buttigieg is also ignoring that EV's rely on raw materials like cobalt and lithium for their batteries and these substances would require greater reliance from (wait for it) Russia and China.
So, we don't have the raw materials, we don't have the infrastructure and we don't have the vehicles. But buying a new EV is the current administrations answer to high fuel prices.
Regardless, how is the average family of 4, living paycheck to paycheck, going to be able to go out and buy an EV? They can barely afford their current 5 - 10 year old (or older) vehicle, much less a new EV at full retail price
