My drivers side seat is stuck all the way back, it probably hasn't been moved in decades. It's perfect for me because I'm tall but I might need to let someone else drive the car and some of the people I know are shrimps. I tried spraying down the tracks with wd40 and a whole lot of pulling and pounding but can't get it to budge. Any ideas?

I'll bet that the wire that runs across under the seat that releases the other side of the adjustment catch is broken, disconnected or missing. Or it could be jammed crooked or just rusted in place.

Best bet would be to take the seat out. (only 4 bolts) Clean up the track, check that the wire is there so that both side unlatch at the same time. Lightly grease the areas that need it and reassemble.

Do you really want "shrimps" driving your car? Its a good excuse to keep them out of your driver's seat by leaving it this way!

You're right, I don't want shrimps driving my car but sometimes I prefer a sober shrimp to my drunken self.

Also I'd like to be able to lend the car to my mother sometimes and she can barely reach the pedals.

Do the seat and track come out together or does the seat come seperate from the track?

The seat can be taken off the tracks but it is usually easier to take the seat and tracks out of the car as a unit.
The bolts under the seat are more difficult to get at than the bolts through the track to the floor.

If the bolts through the track to the floor are rusted solid, you may have no choice but to take the seat off of the tracks.
A little penetrating oil may help bit don't get it all over your carpet.

Good Luck!

There are rollers in the track that are likely frozen. Ditto on taking out the seat and cleaning the track assembly.
