Starting Info.
Car: 1980 Z28 Completely bone stock.
Engine: LM-1 350.

Currently under going a rebuild and I received some free parts. So it frees up my money to try something.

1. Will retrofit roller lifters work with any roller cam or do they need to be specifically matched. Do I need a retro-fit cam to go with my retro-fit lifters. Also would brand matching matter? I can't seem to find too much Information on lifters unfortunately.

2. When does seat to seat time occur? How would I figure out how many degrees from exact open to exact close? Would I have to get the manual, give the cam makers a call or...what?

Overall thinking Howards or Edelbrock for cam. If you guys have recommendations on brands as well I'd like to know :D.

The parts I got are these I believe as I will see em tuesday.
Edelbrock Air-gap intake manifold part #7501

and a holley 650 double pumper I believe. Not entirely too sure on this one.

Comp retro lifters work on Crane retrofit cams and vica versa.

Any combo is fine.

The ADV duration or Seat timing duration is meaningless for the most part.
Look at the 0.050" duration. It will give you an apples to apples comparison.

If you use good heads , 4.10 gears, 3500/4000 rpm converter, 1.75" headers, your 650DP and air gap intake with 11:1 compression a 119841 Crane cam.539/.558 lift 234/242* Dur HR cam works great and will put you in the 11's.

Sweet, i kind of like the howards retro-Lifters. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hrs-91164n/overview/make/chevrolet

Ahhh thanks for clearing that up. I wasn't sure wether the ADV duration was the seat to seat or not. I'm just curious because of the dynamic compression ratio.

Also I may be getting some brodix IK 200 found a deal for pretty cheap. Would be paying about 650$ for both then have to get rebuild kits and be ok. Friend is just rebuilding. Kind of big is my only concern but I think I'd be getting a great deal and opening myself up to a decent amount of future expansion.
