Jeff Mortenson is a member here and owner of Classic Chevy 5 Speed (a sponsor of this site) His web site has some great information about the swap. www.classicchevy5speed.com

He sells the LSx adapters and motor mounts. With the right mounts, you won't have to hack up your trani tunnel like so many others have done.

Highly recommend you speak with him as he can hook you up with many of the parts you'll need.

Good luck with the swap and keep us posted on the progress.

^+1 ....I agree I think he uses the ATS adapter plates and ATS modified motor mounts.

Their motor mounts are modified to be installed upside down. They sit the motor slightly lower in the subfame which gives you more clearance in the trani tunnel for the fat T-56.

The ATS adapter plates are a little shorter than others which sits the LSx motor further away from the firewall and compensates for the longer length of the T-56. (I have a set of ATS adapter plates for sale if interested)

Here's a picture of the ATS mounts (black) versus the longer mounts I used from Street and Performance(silver).
