Pretty emotional thread for me so I'll throw it out there as I don't talk about it anywhere else.

This is a commemorative car for my son Garrett. He went by G and he was a rare kiddo, lightening in a bottle. My wife and I have no other kids and are currently trying invitro. Garrett passed in February this year and all he wanted to drive/own was a second gen camaro. He will have his camaro. Right now with what funds I have, I'm doin my best to put together the best damn car I can, doin as as my talents allow so I'm engrained in every bit of this process.

I lucked out found a one owner 1979 Berlinetta that someone had already been buying/working on. Rust minimal, structurally sound and it came with enough parts I pretty much stripped it and sent it to paint.

I just don't have much of an outlet minus the garage as I dont do a lot of the things me and him used to.

This is a passionate fan base and I'm gonna need some help/info. So I want input and constructive criticism as I will hopefully pass this car down and own it for the rest of my life.

End result a nice car, that is no bullshit on the street. We will show and do rides as well as the occasional track pass.

Update:

Engine is a 1967 .396 bored .60 over, mild cam, all roller rocker hardware, edelbrock air gap intake, Holley 650, with all msd 6a and distributer. All connected to a th400, TCI street fighter 4000stall tc w/anti balloon plates. Turning 373 gears, flowmaster super 10, with summit headers.

Pics of motor rebuild and minor body work. Stripped/repainted, starting to polish all aluminum, reskinned doors & roof repair. It had several pin holes in roof. Cut it out welded and built up with a lil fiberglass (for now). And ya I know that's ford grey on an icon of a Chevy block. I'm going with all subtle colors as car was already to far from OG to go back.

Aim to have street/pro tour looking car. Color scheme is hotrod black no drop rails, with a satin finish and interior will be carmine red. Engine bay black with grey wire harness's black/grey minor polished parts.

Reply away fellas I appreciate the support. Don't think it's a poor me trip. If anything it's a build me up trip, so this car is right. I want support and to be held to a standard. I want this car right. Not to the T factory, but done right.

Update: finished polishing neglected pieces minus intake, that starts tomorrow.

Tonight was another hand cramper... first round on the neglected intake.

Inputs: is the motor gray heavy? All brackets will be black. Water pump polished/polished alternator with all black pulleys. Will detail breather in blacks striping on ribs and edelbrock will be polished or black not sure yet.
