I rarely actually wash the car with water, but did today. Wife and I did about 280 miles today for shopping and visiting. Perfect weather for t-roofs off.
Car ran like a top, the 5 speed sure is nice on the highway.
Yeah... Back when I was in elementary school, I would have printed that out and hung it on my wall instead of that black 1979 Camaro with flames on the hood.

That's what I call beauty!

Awesome to here that Biker....sounds like your in the sweet spot, maybe 1 jet up on the mains and see what that does, a tad rich on WOT is better than a tad lean, pistons are more expensive than a little extra fuel !

I get the same loud noises from the passenger seat, except it's the wife yelling "ya baby" when I bang it off the chip going up through the gears and hitting 190 kph getting on the highway !!! it happens so quick......she loves the rush....god I love her !!!!
On my last ride while testing new valve covers for oil suction, I found myself driving at a faster pace on a new highway.
A beautiful, flat, clear highway.
I easily maintain my pace and think to myself... this is great anyway.
Flat - no hills, I just lighter tap the gas pedal with my foot and if I needed to accelerate even more, I still have a large and noticeable reserve.

Then I looked at the speedometer and "oh my god!"

I have to commend Hotchkis for their TVS kit and especially you for the great work on the carburetor.

Looks great!
Best thing to do after washing your car with water is take it for a ride. A long ride....A long FAST ride! lol. Gotta get that water out of there somehow. That's my reason (excuse) anyway...

Lol. I don't even know how fast that is...
I'm American. 🤣🤣

My wife is pretty good, you can get on the freeway & wind it up to 95 or 100mph with no issues. Anything over that & ya get a "that's enough"😁 or any slight loss of traction from a take off is not appreciated either. If verbal warnings are ignored, an elbow follows, lol.

I hear ya, only the US and UK (9%) of the world use MPH, everywhere else is KPH. Up here, a certain age groups still use mph references in many aspects, especially racing. We still use US gallons per inch measurements and reference to figure out fuel needs/usage for a race and making weight.

It's easy, here's my cheat, I just use "1.609", EX: mph x 1.609 to get kilometers per hour, or kilometers per hour / 1.609 to get MPH.

So, 190 kph / 1.609 = 118.1 mph rounded up.

George, was that in 4th gear or 5th gear ???
5th. Zed
When I was choosing one of the three TKX transmission options for my 3.08 gear ratio, I did some calculations compared to the TH 350 I originally had in the car, to at least have some idea of where I would be with speed vs. engine rpms.
And the TKX's 4th gear is like the TH 350's 3rd gear.

The theoretical speed at the operating rpm range which is 6000 rpm, if I remember correctly, came out to 272 kmph with 3.08.

I think I made the right choice.
Or do you think I didn't...?

I apologize to Biker for going off topic.

"oh my God" is even scarier as (I think) you decided to take a hand off the wheel and grab a cell phone to take a pic!
Please tell me your passenger took the pic. 137 mph is flying for sure. I've had mine up to 110 briefly, and have no doubt it could readily do 137. But I don't think I have it in ME to do 137.
You get caught in Ontario Canada doing that (anything more than 50kmph-(30mph) over the limit), you're losing your license for 30 days and more.
In Ontario, stunt driving charges, which often involve excessive speeding or dangerous driving maneuvers, carry significant penalties. These include immediate roadside license suspensions for 30 days, vehicle impoundment for 14 days, fines ranging from $2,000 to $10,000, and potential jail time of up to six months for serious cases. Additionally, upon conviction, a driver faces license suspensions of one to three years for a first offense, and longer suspensions for subsequent offenses, including potential lifetime suspensions. Six demerit points are also added to the driver's record, and a mandatory driver improvement course is required before license reinstatement

Speaking about speedo’s. When I was 22, I bought a 1971 Z28 that had a M22 in it with 3.73 gears. Stock with points still. The 150 mph speedo made me curious. And yes when I hit 150 the ignition cut out until I let up. I had new Firestone Wide Oval 60 bias ply tires. BS your probably thinking. Nope. Crazy thing I also had a friend with me but no camera.

Here’s a video of a kid getting his Dad’s Ferrari impounded the other day in Ontario.
