No the overlay is peeling and the PO put an oil gauge right through the overlay. So there is a big hole there.
That kind of stuff is so maddening...some elses brilliant idea screws the next guy in line. Well, that answers that. I have an overlay, but it's for the 75-77 bezels, which does you no good. Hopefully someone here con hook you up with one. There's always ebay too. Good luck on your hunt!

I know but I bought it from the original owner and it was just a day two thing that they did back in the day. I did similar things to my cars back then.

As long as you understand that you need that wiper switch, you are good.
The differences are listed in the link I posted earler in post #6.
Please confirm the part number on yours as I may have one unbroken for you for 72/73 years.

It's way overpriced junk. It's the same (and nearly the same price) as this NEW OER unit:

OER Gauge Bezels 365645

Also, it is NOT correct for your 72. The wiper opening and woodgrain overlay is all wrong. Your bezel will be the 1970-72 style.

Would those others fit? Yes. Would they be correct? No.

1970-72 are the same. The wiper switch/bezel change came in 1973.

Here is a pic of the bezel and wiper switch from a 32K mile 1972.

And here is the bezel and switch in a 73. 1973 had backlit wiper switches and larger wiper switch openings.

I get it but where can I buy one with the woodgrain? I don't care if it's used or new. Thanks
Are you looking for "correct" for 1972? If so, you will have to either find a nice used OE 1970-72 bezel with the burlwood overlay here in the Swapmeet section (Post a WTB ad) or on ebay. Ebay sellers usually have no idea what is correct for which particular years...they lump their bezels into "Fits 1970-1978"...just because it fits, doesn't make it correct. They may fit, but like the one you listed above, they will NOT be correct for your car.

Know that going in and be prepared to pay either way. They are not cheap anymore.

You do have one other option if you wish to remain correct for 1972. Find a good used burlwood overlay from a 1970-72, and install it on a new OER bezel. BE SURE to get an overlay with the correct wiper opening...verify the opening size before buying or you could end up with a 73 with an opening that's too big. I've sold a few of those where the bezel was broken, but the overlay was still good. 1974 won't work either as it has the same size (larger) opening as a 1973, AND the overlay is walnut, not burlwood...that one is obvious when you see it. It was a one year only overlay.

If you don't care about originality, you can buy the one I linked above, but you will need to change your wiper switch to the later style.

Wish I had more for you, but those are your options.

I have a 3972062 that has been repaired.
It was painted, but with some effort, you could make it look nice.
1972 did not have lettering on it. 1970 and 1971 did.
The wiper switch part numbers changed, but I think the hole size stayed constant.
This topic has been discussed on this many times over the years.
