    New Ownership '78 LT

Yes true! Pics on the net are very few of unmolested LT's. We found ours very clean but of course Paint & interior were showing the age. Funny thing, in our town is a white LT w/blue interior painted by the same painter... Here is our fresh carmine interior.

    New Ownership '78 LT

Two years go by... Well here is the wifes '78 LT. Fresh interior and fresh paint, just completed two weeks ago. Nice wet slippery black. The car sparkles. It sounds great. Not too much of a build as this car was a clean survivor with virtually zero rust. So to date... full maintenance of the...

    Max HP Handling Car Setup

Speedjohnstons car, he's a Canuck I believe. Its a slow build and I don't know its current state, but its close to being there. It is extreme! http://www.nastyz28.com/forum/showthread.php?t=285559

    Max HP Handling Car Setup

Sounds like you have the money to do want you want. I think a road race themed car with big brakes would be the all around most pleasing ride. Accelerate hard and be able to handle the curves. 10 seconds in the 1/4 and not much turning ability? Not for me (unless I want a dedicated drag car)...

    Thanks Keith!

Yes. With the coil spacers used up front to run in the 'tall' position. And the shackles run in the 'low' hole in the rear. This gives minimal rake with my tallish 255/50-17 rear tires (27").

    Thanks Keith!

Another thanks goes out to Keith. I was worried the car would be too low. With his springs, it came out perfect being 1/2" lower than the stock sacked out springs. Thanks again.

    New Ownership '78 LT

Funny thing... The stock springs had my rear end offset to the right quite a bit (almost an inch). My new Custom Works 1 1/2" lowered springs push my rear end to the other side (left). Thankfully I have a couple of spacers to get my wheels centered better, side to side. Weird.

    New Ownership '78 LT

We have been quiet with our '78 survivor over the winter. Can't do too much to an excellent survivor, we feel. Its only original once. But this week we put fresh springs & shocks in, from the original 38 year old ones. Custom Works springs & Hotchkis rebound adjustable shocks. Netting a half...

How much power am I looking at?

This could be a good idea for a thread on "theoretical horsepower". Some 'quick math' and an app could be a topic for how we would build. I would love to hear how my idea of a motor would look with some quick math. But really, the rebuild houses have already covered much of it with their...

    1978 Z28- Seee Ya!

Thanks 8pack. So theoretically my Custom Works 3/8"-1/2" spacer (thats how they list it) should bump height close to 5/8"-1" if I am understanding correctly. It does sit on top... :-/ We'll see how it works out. Cheers

    1978 Z28- Seee Ya!

Hey there 8pack, I am right where you were when you were doing your springs. Figuring/guessing the finished height. The Global West & Custom Works Performance 2G coils appear pretty close. You feel they are close, or which ones sit higher? And did the 3/4" spacers add 3/4" of height? I will...

    Replacing Front Springs 78 Camaro

Interesting Todds spring spec page. Freestanding heights are from 16"-18". Install height (installed I take it?) is from 10"-11 1/2". Are the springs really compressing 6"-7" after they are installed? My new, about to go in springs are 13 1/2" freestanding. I can only guess I will get about...
