GM dash clocks were a running joke in the 1970s. I'm not sure they were designed to last more than even a year. Neither my '74's clock nor my '78's clock made it to 1980. Replacing the internals seems like the best bet, if one wants it to function.

I had one of the solder connections on my '74's tac filter break back in the early '80s, and the tac stopped working. I soldered it back on, and it's been working ever since, so I would check that before taking the dash apart.
GM clocks only show the right time twice a day!

I just broke the brown tach wire going to the resistor trying to find engine numbers. Took awhile to locate as it broke right at the resistor. I don’t know if it can be soldered without frying internals. Anybody know where to find a replacement resistor.

That resistor is not needed for the tach to work. Wire around it, and forget about it.

I got so tired of the Camaro Gauge Cluster nonsense, not to mention the dim lighting....I went Dakota Digital.
