Hi, one of my Z28s has a VIN ending with 200939. I do not have the original 4-speed. Someone mentioned they switched from Muncies to another. What tranny was in there if it wasn't a Muncie and what's the cutoff (+/-) for the VINs?

Thanks for any insight.

m21 muncie four spd was replaced by M21 Borg Warner Super T-10 four speed . The ratios were also different. ( Warner ) 1st gear became 2:43: 1. As opposed to M21 Muncie 2:20 first . The exact date to serial number and corresponding months for the second half of the 74 model year , I have not seen published I have an original copy of GM technical service bulletin. 2-74 ….where they announced the changes to four speeds and HEI additions . The actual implementation pin pointed down to the cars serial number may yet be a mystery. There have been many discussions. Some were in the old 74 owners thread .
