i guy cam in to work and we started talking and bought a brand new 2011 camaro, and took then engine out and is getting ready to purchase a 572 for it tranny and straight axle, and i told him when your ready to let go off that ls3 i would buy it to put in my 70 camaro.

he told me he would sell the harness and alt, brackets and everything including the 6 speed, i have my original engine in it right now with a lt t56 bolted to it. not sure how much he wants for his ls3 that has 36 miles on it, but can i use that wire harness to install the ls3 and could i use my lt t56 and bolt it on with a adapter? i was going to get ls1 but i would rather have a fresh ls3, any suggestions and tips i should now before i buy this drivetrain? if my lt t56 works on it i would sell the tranny out of the 2011 or ask him just for the engine.

I think you would be better off with the LS3 T56 and sell your LT T56, but I dont know that much about the 5th gen T56 or what ever it is now. You may be better off with an LS1 T56 out of a 4th gen f-body.

Also if you pass I would be really interested, lol.

Why go to the trouble to adapt the LT style trans when you're getting the matched set? I'm pretty sure the newer one is a TR6060, and is probably higher power rated as well...

I'd sell the LT trans and all the kit that goes with it and install the new one, but that's just my 2 cents.

The first picture is a manual trans, obviously and the second is the 6 speed auto and IMO is HUGE!

The manual trans looks really similar to the T56 I have, but the bellhousing looks a little longer. Other than that I can see that the shifter will need to be replaced.

I feel alot of hot air here..Who buys a a brand new 2011 Camaro and wants to swap the engine out for a 572?

Its cheaper to buy the new supercharged Vette...I bet he was all talk. That engine/trans combo is worth $5,000+

If this is true that guy has more money than sense lol nobody buys a new car and pulls the motor and trans out of it, but who knows. If you get it it'll be a monster for sure.

HAH!!!!!
Try to multiply that by 200-230% minimum I'd say even more.

The TR6060 is the beefier 6 speed manual that handles 600lbs ft.
I'd say it's $2500-$3,000 just for the trans NOT including the flywheel, clutch, etc.

The LS3 in FULL trim, totally complete is going to run ~$10,000 by itself brand new.

Here's a stripped one with no alternator, no Power steering, no MAF
No sensors, no computer, no harness. Just the engine complete ~$9K -$10K

Depends on where you get it from tho. Here's a stripped LS3 on Ebay for $6,000
Now you guys know why the Vortec motors are so popular for swaps.

i know the lt t56 is stronger then the ls 1 t56 i h dont know anything about this new 6 speed, but i hope he is not all talk, he owns his own shop in the area, he is making a drag car out of it he claimed, and i hope if he is that stupid he will sell it to me for cheap i dont have that kinda money lol maybe it makes more sense if i kept my t56 and sold my 350 and bought a ls1, i just dont know how much this is all going to cost im only 19 and work at advance auto parts and go to college so i defiantly dont have 7000 + $ to throw around for an engine.
