541 Caddy swap

(Iwould follow the build exactly to the specs,minus a Dyers blower and BDS FI)Into a 1974 Berlinetta? Or maybe twin Incon turbos?

I think it's a great idea!

To me any big Cad V-8 naturally belongs in other cars b/c they used them way back in the early days to make more power! The '53 Stude Coupes were naturals for a Caddy implant!

I have to start reaserching forced induction a little more. It would be THE ULTIMATE sleeper.

I've recently read up on these engines because someone has one on another message board for a mere $400.

From what I understand, with an aluminum intake they only weigh 40-60 lbs. more than a iron head SBC.

The only chore would be fabbing up engine mounts. They're located further forward on the engine. Also, they require a BOP trans case.

That engine would certainly be a streetable sleeper.

I would use a Price Motorsport adapter to adapt this intake to it http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=EDL-2966&autoview=sku I'll probably end up going with FI and twin turbos to keep the look stock. A big ol' blower stickin out takes away from the sleeper effect.

All iron they weigh like 625 pounds vs 685 for a BB!

I'll be using aluminum heads too so that will shave off a few pounds.

I love those freakin caddys. If i dont use a Poncho 441 in my hot rod then i will probably go with a caddy.

Imho, it would be way cool if the 472/500 Cad was brought back to life as a siamesed cylindered block engine that could be bored out to 4.75"!

Add a 4.5" stroke and you would have about a 638" engine!

That wouldn't weigh all that much more than a SB!!

That would be huge scary and crazy and probably like 900+ HP with the turbos! Under a stock 74 Camaro hood too! What a wolf in sheeps clothing!
