You are asking , the one thing that there are several different ideas, I suggest, doing a thorough search on the interwebs, for the different methods , then based on your skill, choose the ones that workes for you, also, look at POR-15 , paint over rust, great product, however , requires the correct prep, all of them do, however, based on what you have will tell you , which method will work for you, and the tilt column from a 81 will be a DD shaft, so you will need to make a coule of changes, to get it to bolt my to your older style shaft input steering box, good reading !!

Hey all, thanks for information! Didn't have a chance to work on the floor yet. In regards to the intermediate shaft, i was able to get it squared away! Here's what i ended up doing: I took the 71 shaft and took the upper and lower apart and same with the 80 shaft. Then i was able to put the lower 71 shaft and connect it with the 80 upper shaft! Got it bolted in now(sorry not the best picture).

Got a lot of parts from NPD also, new dash, headliner, door panels, carpet, rear package tray, door + trunk locks, and some interior dye SEM paint.

Here is a picture of the wheel i painted, i did about 3 coats. it was originally a light blue wheel. Im pretty happy as it turned out well!
