72 Z28 Question...........

The 12 bolt rear was a 1970 only item. If you have a 71 or later year with a 12 bolt in it, the rear was replaced at some point. All 71 & 72 Z28's and even the SS-396 cars had 10 bolt rears in them from the factory.

Well, we finally got around to pulling the dash/gauges and found out they have been switched with a set from a '74....

So, what redline tach do we need for this 72 Z28? I'm finding alot of 7k redline tach setups, but do we need the 8k?

i owned a 72 i bought it on the sixth month in 72 it had all the gauges as earlyer z28s and the rear end in my 72 was a 12 bolt

not from the factory it wasn't ....

ALL went to the 10 bolt in 71
