So, looks like I have a 350 block going to the machine shop next week to get rebuilt. Was considering building it to a 383. I did some talking with my relative who's building it about HP numbers. He was thinking he can probaby push 400 or so on my budget. My question is will the rest of the driveline handle that HP? Stock rebuilt T350 with a stock 10 bolt rear end.

So, did some more investigating with my car... Turns out the person before me welded the diff...:( So, now I'm stuck trying to figure out what I want to do... Anyone have any suggestions? Can it be rebuilt? I assume the housing is still good will the spider gears just come out in one chunk or?

Picked up my engine a couple days ago. Wound up finding a rebuilt chevy 350 for cheap. 010 4 bolt main block Edelbrock RPM intake, Edelbrock 600 cfm carb, lunati voodoo cam, built and machined 882 heads off a vette, steel crank, plus all front accessories and HEI distributor. Still need to finish putting a few things on but it's ready to drop in. And all for 1700 bucks. Don't feel like I got to bad of a deal. As much as I wanted a 383 it's just not practical money wise at this point. Would still love to build one in the future.

It's been a while since I've posted any updates. In the last couple months I've managed to get the fire wall painted and smoothed up. I'm going with a few custom things on the interior which meant I could get rid of the bulky heater box and the misc holes I no longer need. Which, I think makes the firewall look beautiful. Also managed to get the engine up on a test stand fired up and tuned and put it in my car along with the TH350. Still got some more stuff to hook up, but with any luck by the end of January I'll be able to turn the key.

being you are close to the canadian border i came across a guy close to toronto that i am wanting to buy the stainless trim that goes around the lower grill from. he has a 77 LT in brown that he just bought for parts but he thinks he won't sell me the trim without buying the grill and valance with it. if you get hard up for a valance i don't need it or the grill just the trim piece so depending on what he wants for the whole package i may just buy it and flip the rest being it's hard to get a good valance and the grill for these. i'm waiting for an email back from him today for a price. just throwing it out there. i live a couple hours north of toronto. parts cars are getting real hard to find up here now. 10 to 15 years ago they were pretty easy to find. by the way, your ride is looking good.
