I like this little guy, personally. If I had my choice. We use the M4 with the M-68 style scope, which is nice for the quick up and shoot. If you like shooting with both eyes open anyway.

The AK-47 works well with, "homey sights":p

You sure about the A2? Our old unit had the A2 from what I remember, bird cage flash hider/muzzle break and forward assist, also had a range selector dial under the rear sight.

Maybe I'm mistaken I do remember qualing with my 16 and firing full auto too. We did 1-2 second bursts because of the crazy muzzle climb. I might be combining the A1/A2 characteristics (old timers syndrome).

I'm positive. You did 1-2 second burst because that is all it will do. No crazy muzzle climb on the M16/M4 anyway.

Nevermind, I just realized I qualed in basic with an m16A1, semi/auto selector, that's why the 1-2 second burst on full auto. I remember using the bullet tips to adjust the rear sight, the disc with the small holes on the sides of the rear site. Yes it is possible to empty a 20 rd mag on full auto and hit NOTHING, LOL. JEZUS now that I think of it we even had steel pots for brain buckets. Steel pots and CUCVS, dear gawd I'm old.

I confused myself because of my CAR, it has the rear dial sights.

LOL,The AK's "barrel bending" in the beginning of that video is BS.

All gun barrels flex when shot, just some more than others. That is why long range target shooters have such a thick (heavy) barrel.

I own an AK and it's not BS... the gun sucks! It is only effective in full auto, that's the only time you can hit anything with it. I also own a SKS and it aint much better. Cheap...and low quality. IMO

They are using M-14's in Iraq for a fact. My cus sent me a pick of him atop a building in a square in Mosul? Not sure if I spelled that right. He had to take his turn on guard they game him a very stander look 14 with a sope on it. He sent me the pic knowing I was a 14 fan owning 2 myself.

M-14 makes the 16 look like a turd as fare as reliability but i see how being able to cary twice as much amo could be nice.

Im 28 my father served in Vietnam he said they had alot of trouble with the Jaming. He said you eather had a good one or a bad one. Alot of them were really wore out. He said he trained with 14's and then they were given 16's in nam. To make a long story short he came home and bought a M-14/M-1A

Now I know the 16/M4 of today is suposed to be a better wepon than yester year. I personaly like them all I have 14's a AK and a Couple SKS's

SKS is a finer made gun I personaly think more acurate the Ak is defenatly more fail proof and the M-14 is some where in the middle I personaly have never had eather one of my 14's jam but I havent thrown them in a mud puddle latley and they they are super acurate. And the 16 I just dont have any use for but I have seen some shoot there A$$ off.

O yeah ment to say on the SKS I have a Russian one and this gun shoot's its butt off inside of 150 right with my M14 open sighted. but they had all milled parts oposed to stamped. My brother has a Norinco SKS and his seemed to be fair at best. Could be the shooters but the russian guns seem to be way more acurate.
