anyone install gauges in the radio location?

i come the the realization that i can't afford all new Autometer gauges at once so i'm going to install the water, oil & volt gauges in the radio location. i haven't got very far yet, but here's some pics. anyone else do this? please post pics if you have. thanks.

Not a bad idea, do you have a console? I installed a clock and some switches in the space below the radio

i tried to fit the gauges in that open area between the console and dash, but it didn't fit. probably because i bought a 3 gauge holder from Autometer. it would probably fit if i made my own mounting bracket.

i got my gauges mounted today. i made a mounting plate out of 1/16" steel and painted it with DupliColor truck bed coating. the truck bed coating gives the piece texture and kind of matches the dash. then i cut the dash using the mounting plate as a template. finally i just installed the rear gauge cup portion to hold everything in place. i haven't hooked up the wires yet, but it turned out pretty good.
