1: I had the guy that shoots the touch up on our used cars spray them with clear coat with a little bit of black.

2: Better at night than during the day. They are obviously going to be darker than regular lights. How dark they are depends on how many coats when they are sprayed.

How bright are the lights at night though. Can you still see them? Are they bright, or real dem?

We used to have an off the shelf aerosol product think it was called 'smoke lens tint' or something, did the same thing. Haven't seen it in years though.
