complete loss of signal on dish network

LOL they must not have any customers in Seatle. I had dish for 3 moths and sent them packing. The only thing that was cool was I had a few channels east and west. So if I missed it on one I could catch it on the west coast.
Few other channels but nothing to write home about.
Always heard that in a storm and rain you loose signal. Few times it rained and yup lost signal. I have no idea how anybody uses them really. Cable might be a PIA with cost but its relyable.

I had Direct and Dish for many years and never had an issue with signal due to weather, rain or shine. Sounds like a crappy install.

I've had DirectTV for a year and half now and only 2 times did it go down and that's because the rain was coming down so hard you couldn't see 2 feet in front of ya!!

If they had a problem like this last June - I think I would have known it. I was still unemployed at the time and watching more TV than I really wanted to while I wasn't working at finishing the inside of my shop (which also has an HD TV powered by DirecTV).

That didn't happen in this neck of the woods. Watched Denny Hamlin win the Pocono 500 live that day (June 6th).

Sounds like a local area problem if it happened. I'd have known about a 2 day outage - as I said - I was unemployed at the time and watching more TV that I should have.

I would have been the first one to complain had it happened.

I can't ever recall the system being down for more than 30 minutes - and when the torrential rain is traveling sideways with 50MPH winds - I'd cut Dish/Direct or even Comcast some slack for a half an hour.

I wouldnt have noticed, electricity hit near my house and fried the internet modem and the direct tv boxes, as well as my ps3. Needless to say I got some stuff done on the cars! lol.
