Got a little done to the Jeep and cleaned all the leaves off the roof and hung some lights...Whew I'm whooped! Nice though hanging lights in 78 degree weather I gotta admit! The funny looking thing at the opposite end of the garage is a giant shrub I made look like a Christmas tree...The orange tree is blocking it in the angle I took the picture from..

More lights this week..

I know it isn't much, but at least the house doesn't look so bah-humbug! Having lots of colorful lights around helps fight off depression this time of year by distracting my brain!

I know what you mean about depression. I seem to get myself into a different winter funk every year. As soon as summer arrives, I'm a new man!

I opened this up expecting that you did some "light" work, and was wondering what you did. My lighting started with most of my old lights not working. After buying $80 worth, it needed another $40 worth to make them look right. I still only have only the front gutter done, guess that'll have to do.

yea the biggest thing this year is my health and not being able to work like I want. I just had to turn down a big race car build yesterday. Full cage and paint work would have put some $$$$ in my pocket but until I get chemo done I just don't have the strength or energy!

So depressing not having extra money, especially this time of year...So much I wanna do for Katie, she does so much for me! I'm gonna be better by summer or die trying!

Not anything like you went through though...Guess I have it lucky!

I was just the support person, not the one that was sick. But it did take its toll on me mentally.

I'm gonna wait a week or so, I do everything I can to keep the electric bill down, (well except for the 3- 300 watt halogen floods, 2 incandescents, and 4 flourescent fixtures I had on yesterday while working on the car) next weekend will be two weeks (REALLY?) till Christmas so the lights will go up then. Mark's house looks almost like mine, a single string of lamps across the front, but I put one additional set of the old style REAL BIG bulbs around the window on our front porch. Finally got rid of the all white bulbs (set came with house when we bought it in 2000). I like the old style bulbs, all different colors. Each light on my string has a plastic tab that you slip under the shingle at the roof edge, takes me about 40 minutes to untangle, lay them across the roof, then kneel at the edge (only single story) and slip 'em into place. Undecorating is easy, I stand on the ground and pull, zzzzzziiiiiiiiippppp they come right down, no ladder no effort! Never cared much for the mini bulb and icicles kind of stuff.

Wow Mark...you're right, it looks great. I can't see a single leaf nowhere on the roof....LOL

I hope your energy level will return quickly. Lack of gitty-up sucks.
