Hi Does anyone have the the measurements for the studs on the top of the door that hold the clips for the stainless steel trim.

The Z21 door trim pictured above looks just like the Z21 trim which was on my 80. (I deleted it but still have it in storage.)
Drip rails were different on the early models (stainless steel).
The upper door reveal molding (Z21) was always stainless steel. (I've never seen a rusty one.)

The only critical measurement for those studs is from the top edge of the door.
The spacing between them will vary from car to car.

Only the end studs had to be "close" to where they needed to be for the clip to fit properly and hold the ends tight.

The trim piece had the same inside dimension (where the clips fit) it's whole length so the studs only had to be spaced "in the ballpark" of every 6-10" apart to secure the trim from one end to the other.

Measuring and comparing any one door to another will almost certainly produce different measurements between the studs.
Even for the same model year and the same assembly plant.

They are called "Nelson Studs" and it takes a special welding attachment to replace them.
There are screw-in replacements available to replace the welded studs. (Same pieces as were used for window trim.)

Thank you! The position of the stud looks like the top of the clip is flush with the top of the door skin.

Stud distance varied as mentioned depending on who was installing them. I guess they didn’t have a jig for the L/R distance, only the vertical distance.
