Thanks for the replies everyone.

I loosened up the lower control arm bolts, put jack stands under them, let the car sit on it's own weight, and then re-torqued. Same ride height. I double checked that the spring positioning was correct. I'm gonna finish up the rest of the car, drive it, and see what happens.

Yeah, give it a few miles to settle before trying anything else. If you take them back out, measure the free standing height of the spring. I would like to know, just for kicks.
You can always cut them to get a lower stance, kind of fiddley to get it sitting right but it doesn't cost anything to trim a little (unless you trim too much) and put it back together. I would trim no more than a quarter of a coil at a time until it sits level, so it may take a couple of tries. If you trim them, trim off the free end and not the top of the spring where it is fairly flat.

Those puny tires also make it look high. Are those 215-65-15. People posting their 17” rims and low profile tires is like comparing apples to oranges. Of course they will fill the gap.

Reevaluate after the whole car is together.

215/65 is the same height as 235/60, not a short tire, roughly 26". The typical 275/40/17 is shorter at 25.7

The key to comparing is measuring center of wheel to wheel arch. That eliminates the tire from the comparison. Which the OP is doing.

Not quite the same or they wouldn’t sell them.
You will be off when trying to find the center of the wheel, instead use the lower rim edge, on the Z use the lower wheel above the trim ring.

Lol ok if .1" is that big a difference. 26 vs 26.1. Of course OD (or any measurement except the rim mounting surface) can also vary a hair from company to company and even model to model. Hell, wear can vary OD by nearly 1/4"!

Wheel center (spindle pin) to lip is best way to compare height on different cars when talking springs. It eliminates variance from different size/make/model tires and wheels. That's why every suspension company will ask for that measurement when you call to talk about ride height problems. I'm sure the guys here from bmr, umi, ptfb and cw would agree.

There is now way that car can sit too high with those springs. Mine actually came in at 12.5” to center of hub and I had to put a spacer in. I I could be remembering wrong but I if memory serves me the free height on that Spring is around 13/13.5” and it a 700# spring

Something is bound up or not seated right as other have said.

When I put 2g springs on my 79rs it started off a tad high for my liking but after a month of driving it settled. My car looked great but was extremely low and barely had any suspension travel. I am stock 350 4 spd fact air and at time steel hood. Had I done an ls2 it would be great. I was warned when I ordered them. Got sick of bottoming out changed them out for the time being. I m on 17's.
