Fuse panel amps for "Run", "Acc", "Batt"

On my 71 are three male spade terminals between two columns of glass tube fuses.

Through these three terminals, how many amps can be drawn through each of them?

If your 71 is the same as a 73... Those connections are fused as follows:
Batt and Ignition = 20 Amp fuse
Accessory has a 10 Amp fuse

Thanks TM. I have seen the wiring on the back side of my fuse panel but could not tell if connected to any of the fuses. Did not meter test.

From the "run" terminal, no more than 5 additional amps needs to be drawn. Presently drawn is 400mv + unknown amount for electric choke (carb)

Best guess, will a 6 amp draw through the "run" terminal not cause an overload?

i've misplaced my tables but in reality it just comes down to the gauge wire you are using which dictates the size fuse you use..

A 5amp fuse is the recommendation by the component maker

In this situation, it is not the size of wire from "run" to component but how much current can be drawn from the terminal

The three terminals must have a limit of how much current can be drawn through them. I don't know if those terminals in my 71 are drawing current through a fuse in the fuse panel. If they don't then the size of the wire supplying current to the terminal needs to be know but I don't know the gauge.

Those terminals are fused.... With the size fuses I listed earlier.
(Battery and Ignition/Run = 20 Amp fuse, Accessory = 10 Amp fuse)
Anything more than that (combined) on any one terminal will blow the fuse in the fuse block.
Assuming someone hasn't replaced fuses with the wrong size.

If you're connecting something which has 5 Amp in-line fuse... You are safe plugging it into the "IGN" (Run) terminal.
If your accessory has very small wires, it should have it's own fuse to blow... 5 Amp, as suggested.
(A shorted-out, very small gauge wire through a 20 AMP Fuse Block fuse could turn that wire into a fire before the 20 Amp fuse blows.)
There's no problem plugging a 5 Amp fused circuit into a fuse block which is already fuse protected @ 20 Amps.
The IGN (Run) terminal is the top one of the three.

Thanks again TM. Thought 5amps would be safe but I did not know enough to be certain. To make electrical connections without knowing is foolish

The component being wired does not have its own fuse

The present pigtail coming off the "IGN" terminal is 12gauge so will install the fuse holder to the pig tail ring terminal where the two other components are connected.
