hi,
am i right in thinking:
black - ground,
dark green - instrument panel illumination
orange - permanent live
red - permanent live
white - dome light and door switches
brown - side lights
yellow - dipped headlights

if this is the case i can get away with only 4 wires, ground, live, side and dipped,
can anyone confirm please,
neil

Your profile says '80, so I assume that's what year wiring your asking about ?

black - ground - correct (common grnd for several circuits)
dark green - instrument panel illumination - correct (goes to fuse for instr lts.)
orange - permanent live - fused for tail then live power
red - permanent live - correct
white - dome light and door switches - correct
brown - side lights - rear lts. & side lts.
yellow - dipped headlights - power to Hi/Low beam switch

thanks a lot for that,
not quite sure what you mean by:
orange - permanent live - fused for tail then live power
is this so the stop lights can flash as indicators???
with me being in the uk, the indicators have to flash independatly of the stop lights,
thanks,
neil
