I recently stripped out my interior in order to fix the 2 holes in the floor, and put my new carpet in. See pic below

I am thinking that now might be a prime time to replace the core.

My car is an 1980 rs NON-AC.

Do I get the core out from inside the car, or outside the car?

Thanks in advance. The brown stuff on my floor is NOT rust, just left over padding that has not come off yet.

Remove the nuts on the outside of the firewall and remove the heater box on the inside. The heater core is mounted in the heater box.

Thank you...

I plan on tackling this in thenext couple of weeks. I plan on documenting the entire process with some pics, in hopes to make a sticky. I see lots of people have this issue, and I feel they would correct it instead of the bypass if there were a good set of step by step instructions...

Wish me luck...
