Hello, my name is Jon, I'm from upstate ny. I purchased a 1970 rs/ss camaro last year and have been working on it ever since. Here's what it looked like when I got it. Original hugger orange that was resprayed at some point. Not the greatest paint job I might add. This past November I started to take it apart for new paint. There was rust in both front fenders. I was able to cut out the rust and weld a patch panel on the drivers side. Passenger side was worse . The support behind the fender was totally rotted. Purchased a replacement fender for that side. Aftermarket body parts pretty much suck as far as fit go. But after cutting here and welding there I made it fit. Also found some rust on the drivers side quarter panel, which was also cut out and replaced with new metal. Other than that it was just a few dings and deep scratches to fix. While I had the doors off to paint the jams I replaced everything in the door except the glass. I don't care for the door handles on second gen camaros, so I bought kingdigit spoon handles and welded them in. Also shaved the parking lights and door locks. Power locks now . So here is what I have so far. Tangelo pearl orange paint with pearl black stripes, budnik wheels, willwood six piston brakes up front . Backs will be going on in the near future. Total interior redo next winter.
Very nice car! Welcome to the gang here! Can you show some closeups of the kingdigit door handles you installed? Looking forward to seeing lots more pics as you do more work to your car.

In the sun the pearl really comes out. I wanted to keep the look of the original color but with a little twist I guess. By smoothing out the parking lights and handles, it kinda has a better look to me. Some may not like it because it not original, but to each its own.
Thanks, that does look really nice! I know there is another car on here where they were installing similar door latches. Way above my welding skills though for me to consider trying it myself just yet.
