Your laptop's video more than likely is out only. I've never seen a computer with a DVI or HDMI "in".

I think the blackmagic card would work. Encryption is between the hard drive and the processor inside the dvr. Output is output.

And yes, copyright nazi's are ruining this country.

You would think so.....but....

HDMI has it's own encryption of HDCP something.....
Now I'm not sure if the makers of this Black Magic card have this specific encryption.

I have a phone call to make tomorrow......
I might just buy it and test it out and get a 15 foot high quality HDMI cable.

My TW box has a USB port on the front panel. Wonder if this would give an output that's usable? Kind of wonder about this myself.

I have that card you listed. Eats up my processor when using it but it works great. I have about the equivalent of a e11000 processor too, so make sure your computer is up to the task. Also multiple cores dont count for crap, single core speed counted in this type of use.

Yeah TiVo provides the application (TiVo desktop) if you want to convert the files to play on portable devices then they charge for the additional application, but to transfer to your desktop computer over your home network the basic software is free.

The downside a 1hr HD TV show is approx 6GB so it takes a little time to transfer it from the TiVo to the computer. But other than that it works fine.

I recorded a 1 minute recording from Discovery HD channel and it played without issue with Windows Media Player.

Sounds like I need to find out it we support the Tivo PVR's locally or not.
So you do have to pay a TIVO monthly fee alongside your Comcast bill as well , yes ??

I have the original Toshiba Tivo DVD-R that was the original lifetime FREE Tivo basic.....with 160gb PVR
I wonder if I can get this to work......

Good God........I never did the conversion for memory used.

That's a good chunk.
There was no chance in hell I was getting the Son's of Anarchy episodes on a DVD after all. lol

Just go to piratebay.org and download what you want in hd...

Stay away from Pirate Bay. ;)
2006 Pirate Bay Raid
2009 Pirate Bay founders in jail.

Now ask yourself.....
If the OWNERS of the site are in jail for fraudulent activity......whom is running the site now ? ;)
I would stay away if I were you unless you just want to have your IP logged
and a BIG lawsuit with your name on it in the future mail.
