Two questions

1. I see how the actuator connects to the door flapper but I think there is also a spring involved. Where does the spring connect?

2. I removed my AC from the car. Since it is just a vent do I really need to use a sealer when putting the passenger kick panel back in?

Just went through installing both kick panels w passenger side being the ac set up

A spring connects the door flapper to the actuator. The door flapper has a small eyelet for one end and the actuator has a notch at the base for the other end.

Still need to seal the kick panel for even without ac it still functions as the driver side kick panel. I used 3m strip caulk (butylized rubber). Placed it on the kick panel with 2 strips wide and 2 strips high. The inner most caulk edge is against the raised edge

Do you have any pictures that show what it is your referring to? I just recently put my kick panel back in my car and I want to confirm if I did it right. The small spring had me confused. Picture is worth a thousand words. Thanks
