Looking for recommendations on a QUIET compressor!

Wait...you need QUIET and you are considering GAS ENGINED compressors? The noise from an oiled compressor is not the motor, an electric motor makes no sound, the noise is from the compressor cylinders themselves as they compress the air (thumpa thumpa thumpa). All the gas engine is going to do is add additional noise to that.

I have never owned one, that's why I was wondering...just trying to think of options!

It would sound like a power washer plus a compressor. Thumpathumpathumpa + nyaaaaaaaaang. THe neighbors would love that.

Oh yeah, I can picture the mob outside with pitchforks and torches!

Well, if the power washing the frame and body shell, sandblasting the frame, compressor running non stop didn't get to them...a running gas compressor definitely would!....good point! LOL

I too would like to get a vertical, quiet compressor. I swear my Craftsman is louder than a jack hammer! Will be watching this thread.
