That is good you got it running! Having a car that runs, even if it isn't in the best shape or even street legal, is the best I think. Once they come apart and don't run, progress can be slow.

So I'm looking at the Weiand 144-177 series superchargers. Currently the engine is all stock but some headers, anybody have experience with these mini blowers? I think the stock tranny would be able to hold up for a little while right?

So im settled in on the Weiand 144 with a holly 750 hp vacuum secondary that I'll boost reference. Going to keep my summit racing distributor and see how that goes, currently I have a Mr. Gasket electric fuel pump that should be able to keep up. Also a lunati blower/nitrous cam, now this is where I get a bit lost, it's a hydraulic flat tappet cam comes with the lifters. I'm planning 1.5 rockers too, will I need new pushrods and should I upgrade valve springs?

Well, due to me making a few more clams than expected I figure I could do better than my unknown mileage 350. Ordering parts for a lq4 swap soon. Plan is stock location engine mounts, msd's new 6014, dual plane intake, and a holly 750dp. I'll be keeping the th350 but with a good rebuild shift kit and an up'd torque converter. Also plan to go with Dakota digital's analog gauge cluster. I'll be keeping the EFI components so I can eventually swap back. Am I overlooking anything? Appears to be a quite easy swap when going carb'd. Just a conversion oil pan and the stock truck accessories should work if my research is accurate. Thanks for reading home in 3 months then the build will finally pick up!

If you plan on going EFI and you want a hand let me know. I can ask my brother if he's up for it and what kind of deal he could give you. My brother has been doing the MegaSquirts for a while on all sorts of motors, everything form turbo 4 cylinder stuff to a LS in a older 4X4 Blazer and my twin turbo LT1 with LS coil packs (fully sequential). He's currently working on a Pontiac 455 with port injection. Off the top of my head, with EFI you'll need an MS3, intake manifold since I don't think the truck one will fit under the hood, fuel pump, lines and misc fittings vs the intake, carb and MSD box on the carb setup. You might be able to go EFI for close to what the carb set up will run. Either way you'll be happy with the LQ4, if I would have had the budget for it that's the route I would have gone. Good luck on the project, hopefully it comes together quickly for you.

Sound like you will be spend more money going back to a carb then sticking with the EFI.

Either way you go you have to have an electric fuel pump and with a carb you will have to use an regulator.

Truck accessories brackets will no fit under a stock hood.

Well I already have an electric fuel pump so that's part of the reason I'm not looking to switch it up to EFI. Iv looked at the prices and it's going to be best for me to keep it carbed right now, plus I like the idea of keeping this old girl carbureted. I'm thinking I'll be able to get good deals around Black Friday/Christmas sales, am I correct in assuming that?

Also what part of the truck brackets won't work? The Ac mount is too high? How are y'all circumventing that problem?
