So I have the opportunity to buy a 2013 LS 3 with low miles but it is out of an automatic car. Looking up the HP numbers it says it's 400 hp not the 425 hp of a manual car.
Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the two engines
is it different cams or something else?
Thanks for the help

Thanks 71 rs
Yes I was able to figure that out with more internet searches hat it is an l99. And it has active fuel management
I am trying to decide now if I want to go with that engine comb or not.

Your choice is stick or auto. Your 5th gen options are only L99/A6 or LS3/M6. Unless you get a Z28 or ZL1.

Great engine! You can get 520-540hp from just a VVT delete and cam swap

Don't let variable timing scare you. With the right cam and tuning, it will make better power throughout the RPM

less hassle imo. I got rid of my VVT and never looked back! i'm happy with my power for now ;) (might ProCharge later)
