Maybe they found a tranny sitting around that was missed on the original install date and wanted to use up the left over stock.
So, if I hear you correctly you are saying that the car may not have an April build date? And that it may be earlier?Patrick73RS said:The Car was delivered in April. I am awaiting the body tag and will revert with the build date when I get it.
Thanks for the assistance.
Patrick73RS said:So the POT01C code would be fine for an April 70 Z-28 then?
Uhh, no.CamarosRus said:Would not this POT01C date code M-22 have been assembled Dec 1, 1970 ??? ......so how would it be correct for ANY 1970 Camaro.
This Muncie would have been installed in a 1971 built vechicle.

Like I said, the NCRS takes that into account in their judging guidelines - so it is always possible. I'll be curious to see how it all lines up - keep us up to speed.Patrick73RS said:GM of Canada documentation is there (which says delivered April), just awaiting the body tag to confirm. Obviously the numbers on the power train need to be checked but I do have the M22 number and it is listed on the post.
I thought that December may be too early however with the way things were inconsistent back in the day you can never tell.

It would have been assembled on December 1st 1969 for the 1970 Model Year (as December 1969 is, roughly, in the middle of the 1970 Model Year) Because stamped assembly dates show the Model year and not the calendar year (and this stamping clearly has an "0" in it, clearly indicating the 1970 Model year).
That's how it could "...be correct for ANY 1970 Camaro." and why it would not :
Transmission Code Example: P0C27A - (1970 Muncie 4 speed, assembled March 27, (M20 w/2.52 1st gear)
