Oldest daughter is coming up on her 13th b'day. Seems like we brought her home, swaddled in a blanket yesterday. Got to say that I'm awfully proud of her. She makes good grades, gets compliments from all of the school faculty...not just the teachers.

She loves softball. Actually she has a cannon for an arm. She's plays 3rd base and any kid playing 1st base will tell you they get nervous when a ball is grounded toward my youngan. She wings a 32 inch bat like a grown up. Had 3 home runs this past spring season.

Just a few minutes ago, I hit mute on the TV remote listening for something else. I heard her singing in her room....Ozzy's Crazy Train. She likes all my music. Motley Crue, Metallica, and everything similar. It drives my wife nuts. She heard one of her teachers singing Ozzy at school...and she named the song. She said she's now considered one of his favorite students...lol.

Meet Kaylee...

Soon you will have to worry about her first car.
Second gen Camaro? Come on dad!
Probably not as a daily driver. She actually wants a pickup truck. One of these days when she marries...and I feel like her guy is truly worth a hoot...I may give her my Camaro as a wedding gift. But if she decides to marry anybody that leaves me ANY doubt about his character...forget it.

I would seem you have a great daughter. But give yourself and your wife a HUGE attaboy. Great kids don't just happen. They are very carefully raised, molded, and fed. GREAT JOB!

I let my girlfriends daughter have my Ford Focus when she needed a car to get to work. Rules were set down. No texting, no passengers, nobody else drive it and no eating while driving. She broke all of them and her boyfriend (now husband) reached back to give his sister in the back seat something while the kid was texting and eating. He then plowed into the rear of a Toyota that a woman had never had a new car before and was taking it home for the first time.

I put it in the garage and fixed it eventually. The kid wanted it back but she had to buy her own car then. Nobody was hurt and she found out that cars don't just show up. The bags didn't blow but the seat belts did.
