And be careful going to the restroom in Pensacola the sign on the doors saying mens and womens actually point to the other door, so if you not really paying attention you will go into the wrong one. Hope you enjoyed your stay on the Gulf Coast.

Man, it rained all day yesterday and most of the morning today. We got a little sun this afternoon. Went to have drinks and watch the sun set, it was nice.

We hail from Galveston and now live noth of Houston. I have been to Cancun, Cozumel, the Bahamas, the Caymans and the Keys. These are the best quality beaches I have ever seen. It's our second time here, and we will be back again.

Florida does have the best white sands and most beautiful areas I've ever been to in the states.
Lived in 3 of the four corners of the US, and trained in San Diego as well.
Been to 10 different countries too.

Florida is still my favorite.....
But those Tropical Storms and Hurricanes .......skerred

The rain has been coming down the past few days but we needed it. The beaches are awesome, Pensacola Beach is pretty much the same but not quite as built up, it is great to be able to be at the beach 20 min. after leaving the house. I usually go to Ft. Pickens a beautiful beach all natural with no houses or condos to be seen. It's part of the Gulf Island National Seashore.

There is one here, though I didn't realize it was a chain. I like it, food is better than average, drinks are good and fairly quick, and its never an obnoxiously loud place, which is something I'm getting pretty tired of.

Steaks are actually not bad at all there.

As for Florida, Panama City was in it's heyday in the 70s-80s. Then it got kinda dated, and now man are they bringing it back! That new open air mall is awesome.

Destin has become too stuffy for me. Too many yuppy yacht types.

St. Andrew state park is awesome if you can get in to camp, and there is an awesome cove there that is very safe for the kiddies to swim with no danger of rip tides, and some decent shore diving on the other side of the jetties at the same location if you are a diver,

You can also rent a pontoon boat or take a ferry to shell island, a small island you can see from shore where shells washup every night. Big hit for the kids. If you go to Panama City and have kids, take the ferry. Very inexpensive and fun trip.

I would rather have Hurricanes than these tornados. at least you have a few weeks notice that something is brewing out in the water.

Went to McGuires a few weeks ago while we were in Pensacola to see our son. Very good, the best Rueban I've ever had. 77Z, sorry I missed you but we only there for the weekend and it was pretty full. We did spend a day at the beaches and an afternoon at the Naval Museum. Awsome place. Went to Crabs for dinner one nite also. We'll be at Santa Rosa beach for the Fourth for a week, got a house right on the water. Maybe we can meet up one evening.
As for favorite beaches? Estero island at Fort Myers is my favorite so far. I give it an 11 out of 10.

Our beach house, right in the middle of the palms!

The beach outside the house at low tide.
