Your gaps are looking good! and you're correct, this is a tedious and frustrating job, but look at it like building blocks... you HAVE TO start at the doors... align the doors to rockers and quarters, then align your fenders to the doors, then align the hood to the fenders. then install your front bumper and loser fenders, and set your gaps on the hood. Hood hinges can be a bearcat, but there is a ton of adjustment in up, down, front, rear, and side to side without flaring holes... It's a 3-D puzzle and no jok,e it's difficult, but working your way forward is the only way to do it correctly. Once you have an acceptable gap setting in all of the panels you've mocked up.... THEN you can start using welders and grinders to refine the gaps and perfect them. I probably have 30 hours in setting gaps for mockup before bodywork, then using welders and grinders, followed by filler and primer to the tune of many more hours, I'm pretty happy with my gaps... it just takes time and futzing, but you're looking good so far! Good luck!!

Very cool look on that rear spoiler!

I once saw a guy bondo/filler over his hood gaps and cut them with an air tool once dried.

I think it was Kevin Tetz on Horsepower TV.

Switched gears some today. I decided to strip the paint off the old bumper I have for the car. Started out with chemical stripping...

After several rounds of chemical strip and scraping off the paint I decided to wet sand the driver side half with 220 grit.

Havnt sanded the passenger side yet.

If you notice the bottom of the bumper has some warp to it. Its not as bad as my original bumper but it still bugs me. Im thinking about putting a piece of flat stock aluminum behind the cover and riveting it to the cover to take out the warp.

How is the sanding going? I've got to do the same thing with mine and I'm reluctant to try chemical stripping. I got the SEM "bumper stripper" stuff for urethane but I'm still chicken.

Are you sanding by hand or with a tool? I was thinking my air jitterbug might work pretty well.

It sucks lol tried to soda blast it but it was to slow and would use a ton of media. So back to chemical stripping and hand sanding.
