I bought the z28 for only $900, I'm excited and nervous since I will have to replace everything except the center part of the shell.
According to the previous owner, the car has been a drag car for a while. It's been tubed and stripped of pretty much everything except the front sub frame, 1/4 of the floor pan (just enough to rest your feet), the firewall, doors, trunk lid, and back glass.

I don't know where to start, I would like to get a rear sub frame, trunk floor, and floor pan in first (after removing the rust and tubing of course). Any advice? I'm trying to avoid selling it.

I have a 1981 Camaro sport coupe that was a Drag Race car in Ontario. I have had a lot of fun with building it and making it street legal. The problems I have encountered are everything on the car was worn out or broken. I feel that if you tear into this car and put a lot of power into it and keep it simple you will have a great time with this car. The idea of building a car to perfection has stalled many projects. Just work on it and learn as you go and remember to enjoy the journey.

Well, make your mind up that nothing will stop you and the PROJECT, if this is something that you really want, sit down after looking over the car and price everything out. Then figure out the budget that you need to stick to and last but not least DON’T GET IN A RUSH to finish it. That’s the curse. On mine before I spent a dime on parts, I broke everything down in sections, figured everything down to the last clamp and fuel line. Thought about the whole thing for about a month, then when the remorse stage of the purchase had worn off, I was ready to make a sound decision. Right now I have replaced every body panel on the 70 and am damn glad I am into this project. Just waiting for cooler weather to get back on it.
Happy trails partner, welcome to the show..

The car doesn't look too rusty so that is a huge plus. I would definitely save it too. 70-73s are so hard to find in our area not rusted in half it is crazy.
