having a problem on a friends 350. it keeps leaking oil up through the intake bolts. never had this problem before. i have even siliconed the bolts. i have tried several different kinds of intake gaskets also. they are stock heads (yes they are not warped) and an edelbrock performer intake with the endurashine (whatever that chrome coating is called).

any ideas would be greatley appreciated

You said you siliconed the bolts - what did you use? I've never used silicon as a thread sealant but I guess it might work. Anyway if oil is coming up around the intake bolts, it's generally a issue where the threads aren't sealed properly.

if you siliconed over oily bolts it's not gonna seal, the bolt threads and the threads in the heads would have to be degreased first. I would degrease them as best you can and use the white PTFE thread sealant, not silicone, on the threads. Also I agree, is he running a proper PCV and breather system. If not, fix that first.

Did you follow the instructions for the intake? I think Eddy's call for Gasgasinch or an equivalent on the intake gasket before installation, maybe the gasket moved on you? Just a thought.

i have a parts cleaner tank and wire wheel to make sure everything is clean. this is definitly not the first intake i have done. i have already done the gaskets before and the same thing. this is why i decided to try the silicone.

pcv system is also perfectly fine.

i am thinking something to do with coating on intake.

thanx guys. keep suggestions coming
