How big or deep is your pool???

We got a solar cover for this season for the 18ft round 4ft deep soft pool, it warms the water but only the top foot or so and soon as it get dark the heat goes away quick.

it is also an 18 ft round above ground 4ft deep too, I DO have to admit there is a bit of a thermocline...........cooler near the bottom, but I have a 1 1/2 HP pump and the return water gets discharged at a pretty high flow rate.....so it gives the whole pool a quick turnover ........... so the thermocline is minimal. Who cares!!!! was good just to take a dip on a day when it was 85* and not a cloud in the sky.......now I have to get my sound wired outdoors on the deck!!

I have thought of that but dunno about what type of pump you use and how affordable. Cause it needs to have some push for it to raise the water up roof high then snake through a buttload of hose then back to the pool. And not pump so fast that the water doesn't pick up heat.
He uses the standard pump that came with the pool.He bought the setup at the pool store. The hoses turn in to a black mat on the roof to capture more heat.
