Hello,
I'm trying to pick a color for my 78... I have a 2008 Domestic Color information book that the paint shop gave me...

Some of the color list the name of the color, then B/C, other list 3ct

For example:
medium red B/C
Crystal Claret Red 3ct

I think the B/C means its a base coat clear coat, what does the 3ct mean?

Thanks

3ct might mean tri coat = base coat - pearl coat - clear coat

I just punched the Crystal Claret Red into my mixing software. It is a tri coat. Might be GM's way of saying tricoat instead of just printing "Tri".

Thanks for the info...

Also, why does the guy behind the paint counter always say the red colors are expensive... Are all the red colors expensive?

What about silver or black, are they generally more or less expensive than others?

My inclination is that white colors would be the cheapest, and black the most expensive, metallics would be more etc.

The dye used to make red comes from some other country. Something about it being expensive to make. If you google it you might come up with why. High pearls and high metallics are expensive too.
