Changed the fuel pump no change... Im wondering if it could be a ignition problem. Im gonna pull the distributer and check the coil and module and try that...

Check for a broken/frayed wire(s) at the pick up coil.....and for a plastic bag in the fuel tank....Don't ask me how I know....

By your description, it sounds like it leans out to the point that it is no longer firing. If it runs fine when you are just cruising, the engine is running on the two front barrels of the carb. When you step on it and open the secondaries, is when the problem occurs. I would imagine that one or both of the fuel jets that deliver fuel to the secondaries is clogged. Even if just one is clogged, it will starve the engine enough to stop firing. You need to remove the top of the carb. The secondary jets are down in the bottom of the float bowl.

Try using sea foam so it cleans the jets . The reason I say this is I had the same suspicion as woodrowbuck so in order to safely clean the jets you can try sea foam
Second question would be
...in your fuel pump does it have a return line that goes back to the tank?

Yes it has the return line to the tank, Fuel Filter is in right, Have been running it without the shaker, no help.... I ordered a new coil and module from summit and should be at my house today by the time I get home... Its wierd because it runs perfect untill under a load at about 3200 to 3500 rpm, then it just falls flat on its face, feels like no gas, but could be weak spark.. And its every time, I will ad seafoam just to be safe..

that sea foam works really well, when I first got my camaro, it was doing the same thing yours is doing my dad said probably one of the meters is not feeding it fuel when the secondaries kick up he told me to use the seafoam stuff,I was told it was sitting for years so I tried the sea foam I was skeptical at first after that it loosened up all the dried up gunk gas in the bowls of the carburetor and it ran fine.

Well when I got home today the DUI coil and module was on the porch. I started to swap them out and when I pulled my cap the advance and the weights were frozen and wouldnt move. So I sprayed them with WD-40 and worked them back and forth, let it sit and repeated a few times. Put the cap back on and the wires and took it out for a drive. Its little better, but Im pretty sure I found the problem.

Question is, Should I buy a new Cordone distibutor from Advanced and put the DUI coil and module in that and try my luck or do I just buy a complete Pertronix HEI with eevrything and send back the DUI coil and module. Maybe I should put this question in another section...

Is the problem also happening when you don't go WOT instantly ? ie revs climbing slowly ?

No, It opens up till it hits about 3200 to 3500 rpms then boggs like its out of gas... Just shuts down, If I hold it to the floor it surges, if I get off the gas it runs fine.... Im thinking the distributor isnt advancing at all... and maybe the coil is weak.. It is 30 some years old...
