So first off this is my setup:
AFR 195cc eliminator heads
400 block bored .030
Eagle crank
Scat 5.7 I beam rods
HR282 comp roller cam
Howard's retrofit lifters PN 91164N
Comp correct length pushrods
Comp cam magnums 1.5's
Edelbrock performer rpm intake
Edelbrock 800 eps carb

So here is what happens I can cruise normal no problems, but the second I floor it and slow down the motor is tapping no missing or running rough just tapping. I then can come home park it for about an hour turn back and no tapping just normal and then floor it again same thing repeating cycle. This the third set of Howard's lifters in motor the 1st and 2nd set would make a tap and make motor shake real bad. What do ya'll think is going on? HELP!!!

Need to get a mechanics scope to try & hear where the tapping is concentrated at & start there. Sounds like something is backing off & allowing to much clearance.

Oil pressure when hot is 20 but then jumps to 60 when WOT. Man what could be backing off and allowing to much clearance when only floored some please enlighten me.

Have you got a valve cover with a open top to adjust the rockers ? If you do:I would use it to find where the noise is coming from.Take a close look At your push rods also;might have one slightly bent.
