When I spoke with the previous previous owner last week he told me the rear end had been swapped from a 3:42 to a 3:73. Seems to match when I turn the axles (goes around 3 3/4 times). I took the cover off today to find this. He also said it was an eaton posi. Tried to find the link to Big Gear Heads pics of different rear ends but can't find it anymore. Looks practically new. Anything I should do to this? Check the pattern or something?

That's a Traction Lock differential, not the Eaton Posi. It's a good differential, and Tory has new clutches for it.

Webshots closed my account, so my pictures are no longer available. I haven't opened another account on Photo Bucket or any other sight.

You can check the pattern, but many times a used gear will not show a good pattern. Checking the backlash requires a dial indicator with a magnetic base.

What I can see looks darn good. If it doesn't whine on throttle, cruise, and off throttle, no real slack when shifting I'd button it up, dose of GM posi additive and go with it.

Ok. Still a long long way from any kind if test drive. I may look into just seeing what kind of pattern it shows and button it up. Thanks for the input and if I do check it out I'll post back up here. Thanks again.
